Little frustrations....
So I mentioned a while back how Chad got this home theater system for his birthday, right? Well, his birthday was at the end of July. Our TV showed up on the 31st and our receiver and speakers showed up shortly thereafter. Do you think we've gotten this thing set up yet? No. (And I assure you it has nothing to do with incompetence on the part of either of us). First, we ordered a new stand for the TV, which took a couple weeks to arrive. It was here and set up before Labor Day weekend. Now that we finally had a place to put the receiver, we opened that box up and one of the dang knobs on the receiver was broken. So, we had to return that and wait for another one to be delivered. (Why can't they just stock these things in the store??) The speakers have this nifty automatic microphone set-up thing where, once you've positioned your speakers, you place the microphone where you will be sitting and it automatically syncs them so you don't need to worry about the length of your speaker wire or anything like that. Based on this fact, we've been waiting for our speaker stands to show up so that we can put the speakers exactly where we want them before we run the automatic set-up. Well, we ordered the corresponding speaker stands like, over a week ago. The web site said that you would receive a "pair" of stands and I EVEN CALLED THE PLACE and verified this! Well, apparently FedEx has been trying to deliver the stands for 3 days now, but since they needed a signature, they couldn't just drop them off. Chad finally went to the FedEx hub to pick them up today and I got to work on setting them up. Well, I opened the box, and guess what? Apparently, a "pair" now means "one." So, instead of getting four speaker stands like we wanted, we have two. I guess this wouldn't be all that frustrating, but I Tivo'ed this Keane concert in HD like, a million years ago and have been waiting for the surround sound to watch it! Grrrr. I guess it isn't the end of the world, but geez-- I got my damn bar exam scores faster than we've been able to hook this up!
