Price check on aisle 3, price check on aisle 3....

I actually did something interesting tonight--something worth blogging about. I went to the Illegal Art exhibit, which is currently at the Hollywood Art and Cultural Center through April 9th. (Yes, it was something for class, but this is a COOL class, dammit!)

Anyway, I must mention one particular "piece" that had me in stitches. An artist named Packard Jennings decided to come up with a collection of phony products and plant them in Wal-Mart stores to see what would happen. One of those products was a Benito Mussolini action figure, complete with bar code and authentic-looking packaging. After planting a group of these figures in the toy aisle at Wal-Mart, he attempted to purchase one, which he was ACTUALLY ABLE TO DO! Awesome. I love it. Wish I would have thought of it. Anyway, the video of his purchase, along with some of his other products are here.
