My new addiction....
So I was given a satellite radio a few months ago by my fabulous friend Stu who got a new car and no longer needed it. It is the coolest thing ever. I'd played around with satellite radio in my mom and my brother's cars before, but I never realized quite how addicting it could become. At first, I was just listening in the car, on the way to and from work. But that just wasn't enough--I had to have more. Good thing XM offers free streaming radio to its subscribers because I couldn't take much more of the Kelly Clarkson crap that my cellmates at work wanted to listen to. Now I plug my little earbuds into my laptop, and it's XM from 9 to 5 as well. It's turned me on to a lot of cool new bands and I've also heard a lot of songs that I haven't heard in ages. I seriously had a 7th grade school bus flashback the other day when I heard "My Sister" by the Juliana Hatfield Three. (Thank you Jr. High crush Billy Shaughnessy for the Juliana Hatfield mix tape...sorry you turned out gay--you were so cute). And for $6.99 a month, you certainly can't beat the entertainment value. I'm going on a short vay-cay this week before school starts back up and I'm afraid I'm going to experience some withdrawal. Perhaps I need to get one of those fun new portable satellite radios? Hmmm.....
